MSAD 30 is pleased to announce that we will be offering a Summer Camp (summer school) program to those students who will be in grades K-8 for the upcoming 2024-2025 school year!

With the end of the school year QUICKLY approaching, many families are beginning to make summer vacation plans. We know everyone is ready for a break; however, we are hoping that you consider making plans for your child to attend our “Summer Camp” program. We understand that summer is a busy time of year and often reading and math are not always front and center in your plans because there are so many other fun things to do. However, research shows that students lose one to two months of reading and math skills during the summer break.

In an effort to prevent this “summer slide” we encourage you to register your child for “Summer Camp”. Our summer program is open to any student wanting to participate. You may request that your child participate in the summer program or your child’s teacher may contact you and recommend that your child participate in the summer program.

The goal of our summer program is to offer students an opportunity to reflect, grow and prepare for the upcoming school year in a more relaxed, hands-on experience.

The summer program will offer whole group, small group instruction with a strong focus on Literacy and Math. Many of the activities planned will be hands-on. The program will take place at Lee/Winn Elementary. Dates and times for the program are listed below.

  • July 8 - July 11 (Monday-Thursday)- 7:30am-11:30am

  • July 15 - July 18 (Monday-Thursday)- 7:30am-11:30am

  • July 22 - July 25 (Monday-Thursday)- 7:30am-11:30am

  • July 29 - August 1 (Monday-Thursday)- 7:30am-11:30am

Busing to and from summer camp will be provided. A light breakfast will be served as well as a snack.

Please watch the Lee/Winn Elementary School, Mt. Jefferson Jr. High, and PTA Facebook pages for additional information as well as busing information.

Again, we are pleased to have the opportunity to offer a summer program this summer. If you have any questions or would like to register your child for summer programming please contact the school secretary, Miss Emily, at Lee/Winn Elementary, 290-4992. Please register your child by June 21, 2024.
