MJJH Newsies CastLW Newsies Cast

The lead characters were nothing short of remarkable, capturing the essence of their roles with a finesse that would make seasoned actors take note. Jack Kelly (Abbie Worster), played with a perfect blend of shameless allure and heartfelt sincerity, led the newsboys with a commanding presence. Katherine Plumber (Falisha White), with her fiery spirit and impassioned voice, was a force to be reckoned with, embodying the role with grace and power. bolstered the passion that makes Newsies so mesmerizing.

But it wasn’t just the leads who shone brightly; the supporting cast consisting of Crutchie (Kaydence Hinkley), Davey (Caleb Knights), Medda (Isabella Rossignol), Les (Jordyn Worster), Race Dominik Perkins), and many others brought energy and enthusiasm to the stage, filling the gym with the spirit of rebellion and camaraderie that is the hallmark of Newsies. And let's not forget Pulitzer (Cole Burrill), a commanding performance beginning as cold, devious, and underhanded and ending as a fatherly caring businessman.

The scenery transported the audience back to the cobblestone streets and the hustle and bustle of the early 1900s. The many scene changes with thoughtful decorative pieces, intertwined with the period costumes, so that every element worked in harmony to create an immersive experience.

Not only did the scenery enhance this fantastic production, but the choreography was seamless and brought the story to life with dance. Each leap, turn, and stomp was performed with an infectious enthusiasm that spread through the audience like wildfire. Many thanks to the choreographer Trish Moulton for highlighting the talents of these young actors.

Many kudos to Callie Peters and Erin Yates (Directors), Melissa Perkins (Props) and all the volunteers and students who worked tirelessly to make this production a smashing success. It’s clear that countless hours of dedication and passion went into every aspect of the show, from the choreography to the set design, and it paid off in spades.

To the entire cast and crew of Mt. Jefferson Junior High’s Newsies Jr., take a bow. Your performance was not just a display of talent, but a testament to the power of hard work and collaboration. Bravo!
